SEND Therapies

SEND Therapies

We provide individualised support for children, young people, and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We recognise that behaviour is often a form of communication. Difficulties with attention, anxiety, emotional regulation, sleep, sensory sensitivity, behaviour, communication, or confidence may be connected to the way a person’s nervous system responds to stress, demands, relationships, and their environment.

Our aim is to help each individual feel safer, calmer, more understood, and better able to regulate, learn, communicate, and participate in daily life.

Floortime Therapy

Floortime is a relationship-based approach that supports emotional connection, communication, and developmental progress through meaningful interaction and play.

It follows the individual’s interests and strengths while encouraging engagement, shared attention, emotional expression, communication, and connection.

Play Therapy

Play therapy provides a safe, creative, and supportive environment in which children can express feelings, process experiences, and develop problem-solving skills.

Through play, children may explore emotions, build confidence, strengthen communication, and develop healthier ways of coping with challenges.

Sensory Integration Therapy

Sensory integration therapy supports individuals who experience sensory sensitivities or difficulties processing information from their environment.

Structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities may support sensory processing, attention, coordination, emotional regulation, and participation in everyday activities. Sensory integration therapy is provided by appropriately trained practitioners.

Neuroscience-Informed Therapy

Neuroscience-informed therapy uses an understanding of brain development, the nervous system, emotions, behaviour, and learning to support wellbeing.

For children, young people, and adults with SEND, challenges with attention, anxiety, emotional regulation, sleep, sensory sensitivity, behaviour, or confidence may reflect how the nervous system responds to stress, expectations, relationships, and the environment.

Our approach may include SEND-friendly therapeutic strategies, emotional-regulation skills, parent and carer guidance, sensory and body-based techniques, relaxation training, and, where appropriate, neurofeedback-informed support.

A Holistic and Integrated Pathway

Depending on the individual’s needs, developmental profile, and goals, these therapies may be combined with talking therapy, neurofeedback, parent and carer guidance, and practical strategies for home, school, college, work, and everyday life.

Our aim is to create a compassionate and holistic pathway that supports confidence, communication, resilience, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful participation in daily life.
